Terms of Use.
Last updated 13 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Allez (“we”, “us”) for using the Allez app and website. By creating an account or using Allez you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use it.
Climbing is dangerous
Allez is a logbook and a game. Grades, CP (Climbing Points), divisions and handicaps are for fun and for comparing progress. They are not advice about what is safe for you to attempt. Climbing carries a real risk of injury or death. You climb at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety and judgement.
Coaching and training suggestions
The Coach, its insights and any training or exercise suggestions are general information worked out automatically from what you log and tell us. They are not medical, physiotherapy or professional coaching advice, and they are not written for your body or your health. Check with a doctor or physiotherapist before starting a training programme, especially if you are injured, in pain, under 18 or new to training. Finger, hangboard and campus training can injure you: stop if something hurts, and never train through pain. You follow any suggestion at your own risk.
Your account
- You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission.
- Give a real email address and keep your password safe. You’re responsible for what happens on your account.
- One person, one account. Don’t create accounts to get around a block, a report or a limit.
How you may use Allez
You agree not to:
- use a username, display name, group name or challenge name that is offensive, hateful or impersonates someone;
- harass, threaten, abuse or spam other players;
- log climbs you didn’t do, or otherwise cheat the rankings, leaderboards or challenges;
- try to access other people’s accounts or data, or break, overload or reverse-engineer the service;
- collect other players’ information in bulk, or use Allez for anything unlawful.
What others can see
Your username, division, CP, home gym and country show on the public leaderboard. Your handicap is private to you. Pro members can choose to show their highest send next to their name. Buddies (people you follow who follow you back) can also see your recent climbs, unless you mark a climb private when you log it. Groups show their members to each other, and group challenges count your sends for everyone in the group. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
Blocking, reporting and moderation
You can block or report any player from their page. We review reports and may remove content, change a username, reset a ranking, or suspend or delete accounts that break these terms, with or without notice. Ranking data can be corrected or reset if it looks manipulated.
Seasons
Rankings run in seasons of about two months. When a season ends, everyone’s CP and division are reset, the division you finished in is kept as a badge on your page (if you climbed at least 3 sessions that season), and the final standings stay visible to signed-in players. Where you start the next season depends on where you finished and on your first session. We may change the length of a season, the CP each division needs, or how a season starts, and those changes apply from the next season.
Groups and challenges
A group’s owner runs it and can delete it, which removes it for every member. Joining a group means its members can see you are in it. Challenges are informal games between group members; we don’t guarantee any result, and a result can change if a climb is edited or undone.
Pro
Allez Pro adds extra features. It is currently granted by invitation or by redeeming a code (for example as a prize), and isn’t on sale. Codes are single-use, can expire, and have no cash value. If we start charging for it, the price and terms will be shown before you pay, and these terms will be updated.
Your content and the service
Your climbs and notes stay yours. You give us permission to store and display them as the app is designed to (for example on leaderboards and to your buddies). We own the Allez name, design and software. The service is provided “as is”: we work to keep it running and accurate, but can’t promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change or stop features.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for injury, loss or damage from your use of Allez or from climbing, or for lost data or rankings. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under law that can’t be excluded, including consumer protection law.
Leaving
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. It permanently deletes your data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use Allez after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
