Privacy Policy.

This explains what Allez collects, why, who can see it and how to delete it. We only collect what the app needs to work, and we don’t sell your data or show ads.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our login provider), plus your username and optional display name.
  • Your climbing: each climb you log (discipline, grade, outcome, attempts, wall and hold styles, gym, optional notes, date and time, and whether it’s shared with buddies), and what we work out from it: your CP, division, handicap, stats and history.
  • Training details (all optional): why you fell and how a send felt, how a session went (effort, type, energy), and a training profile with your goal, any injuries or niggles, equipment, available time, years climbing and strength numbers such as bodyweight, max hang and pull-ups. Injuries are health information: you choose whether to enter them, and they are used only to keep your own exercise suggestions safe.
  • Where you climb: your home gym, its city and country, and any other gyms you add or ask us to add.
  • Pro codes: if you redeem one, we record which account redeemed it and when.
  • Social: who you follow, your groups and challenges, people you block, and reports you send.
  • Technical: a login session cookie, and basic server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) that our hosting keeps for running and securing the service. We don’t use advertising or analytics trackers.

Who can see what

  • Everyone signed in: your username, division, CP, home gym and country (the public leaderboard), your badges, and whether you follow each other.
  • Past seasons: the division, CP and position you finished each season with stay on the season’s final standings and, as a badge, on your page. They are removed if you delete your account.
  • If you are Pro and leave it switched on: your highest send, next to your name on the leaderboard and on your page. You can turn it off in Settings.
  • Your buddies (mutual follows): your division and your recent climbs, except climbs you marked private. Notes are never shown to others.
  • Group members: that you’re in the group, and your send counts in that group’s challenges. Private climbs count towards a challenge tally, but only the tally is shown.
  • Only you: your full history, stats, handicap, blocks, your email, and all your training details (fall reasons, session details, training profile).

People you block can’t follow you or find you in search, and aren’t told they were blocked.

Why we use it

To run the app you signed up for: calculating rankings, showing leaderboards and stats, letting you connect with buddies and groups, sending the account emails (sign-up confirmation and password reset), keeping the service secure, and handling reports of misuse.

Your training details and climbing history are also used to work out your Coach insights and training suggestions. This is done automatically by fixed rules, only for you: nobody reviews your details, they are never shown to other players, and injuries are used only to leave out exercises that could aggravate them. The suggestions are general information, not medical advice.

Who handles it for us

Your data is stored and your login is handled by Supabase, and the app runs on our own server. They process data only to provide the service for us. We don’t share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting it

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account any time in Settings, which permanently deletes your profile, climbs, ratings, follows, group memberships, blocks and reports about you. Groups you own are deleted for all their members. Copies in routine backups and logs are removed as they expire in the normal cycle. If you can’t sign in, contact us and we’ll delete it for you.

Your rights

You can see and correct your information in the app (Profile, History and Settings), and delete it as above. Under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and similar laws where you live, you can also ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, object to how it’s used, or complain to the Information Regulator.

Children

Allez is for people 13 and older. If you are under 18 you need a parent or guardian’s permission. If we learn a child under 13 has an account, we’ll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, the date at the top will change, and we’ll tell you in the app if it matters.
